The three-sentence version of each
- GoKwik is the deepest option for COD-heavy, lower-AOV brands where RTO is a real, measured cost, and it’s the only one of the three that bundles a genuine engagement/support layer (Kwik Engage) into the same platform.
- Razorpay Magic Checkout is the strongest fit for prepaid-leaning brands who want an actual insurance-style RTO reimbursement product, not just prevention — a genuine capability edge, not just “it’s what you already use.”
- Cashfree Checkout 360 is still the simplest to price out without a sales call — a flat 1.95% standard rate (plus a time-limited 0%-up-to-₹20L new-merchant promo through March 2027) with no order-count ceiling, versus GoKwik’s published rate being capped at 2,000 orders/month before it reverts to custom quotes. Razorpay’s gateway fee also now has a time-limited 0%-for-90-days promo under ₹5L/month, but Magic Checkout’s own incremental fee stays completely unpublished regardless — it’s the one checkout-layer price that’s never public, promo or not.
The point that applies equally to all three
Shopify charges its own transaction fee (2% on Basic, down to 0.5-0.6% on Advanced) whenever you use a payment gateway other than Shopify Payments — which isn’t available in India at all, so every Indian Shopify store pays it by default. All three quick-checkout tools sidestep this the same way: the completed order gets injected into Shopify via API as a “draft order marked as paid,” which Shopify’s fee policy classifies as a manual payment method and exempts entirely. On a ₹10L/month store on Shopify Basic, that’s roughly ₹20,000/month (₹2.4L/year) avoided — before counting any RTO or conversion benefit. It’s not a reason to pick one of the three over another, but it is a reason to use one of them at all instead of a bare Shopify checkout + standard gateway.
What we actually do
We implement GoKwik for clients (disclosure below), but which platform actually fits depends on COD mix, AOV, volume, and whether bundled engagement matters to you — not which one we have a partnership with, and not which gateway you happen to be on today. Switching gateways is a solved problem, not a tiebreaker — for a prepaid-leaning brand or a price-sensitive lower-volume store, the honest recommendation is sometimes one of the other two, regardless of what they’re currently using.
